Literacy-

SWBAT:

• read selection vocab- astronaut, experiment, gravity, shuttle, telescope
• read “Exploring Space with an Astronaut”
• learn features of expository nonfiction
• writing- expository nonfiction
• build oral vocab- enormous, journey, launch, meteorite
• distinguish medial phonemes
• build words, fluent word reading, blend and read, dictation
• say and spell high frequency words- everywhere, live, machines, move, woman, work, word
• learn conventions of writing- subjects

Handwriting-

SWBAT:

• correctly form the letter F,f and G
  

Religion:

SWBAT:

• understand baptism and show understanding
• Understand God as our Creator by learning the stories of Adam and Eve, Noah and Abraham

• Pray the rosary as a school
• Attend adoration

Math-

SWBAT:

• use the make-10 strategy to subtract
• solve two- question problems by using the answer to the first question to answer the second question.
• demonstrate knowledge of subtraction methods and problem solving skills
• Introduce topic 4- working with equal groups
• model repeated addition to write a number sentence.

Social Studies/ Science-

SWBAT:

• complete Seasons Window and poem
• Begin unit on India, Asia and Ancient China

Spelling-

• spell the words: age, hose, face, prize, line, dice, date, fuse, maze, grace, price, mode
