Alright, so now that I am finally understanding the online math portion of our program and have gone through it with your lovely children, I can hopefully help to rid you of some of your headaches. :)
When you log on, there are two programs for you to look at. Right now, we are just going to be using the Envision Math. (That is until I can become more familiar with Reading Street.)
If and when there is an assignment for your child to complete, the tab on the left side of the banner will say "To Do," click on that and it will show the assignments you need to complete.
After you get to the assignments screen, click on the assignment for the day. There will be a pop-up. The left side will have three options, "Learn, Guided and Independent Practice and Quiz." Have your child watch the Learn video, this will be review for what we did in class.
After your child has watched the video, you can skip the guided and independent practice, this portion is what we will have completed in class together.
Then your student will take the quiz. There is a bottom bar that has bubbles labeled A, B, C, D with two arrow button. Click the bubble of the answer on that bottom bar, you will not be able to select the actual problem. Once they have the quiz graded a link will appear for reteaching, practice or enrichment. You do not need to print this page off, however, encourage your child to work on the problems. I will use the grade of the quiz and work from in class to grade the lesson, I will also use the quiz to enrich or reteach the lesson.
Once the lesson homework is complete, don't forget to click the I'm Done button on the right side of the assignment. This will submit the assignment to me, otherwise it cannot be graded.
I hope this brings about a little more clarity and I will be walking through the homework at the Back to School Night on September 12th!
Thank you for your patience and working through this with me!
Many blessings,
Ms. Gonzalez
